For twenty years I've been buying fabrics and yarns, all the while daydreaming about the beautiful and perfectly coordinating wardrobe I would make. It is time to put in the sweat, blood and tears that will make this happen...

The archives: paisley shirt
This must have been one of the first few garments I sewed, sometime around 1987-88. I vaguely recall that the pattern was from a Prima Patrones magazine, which I don't have anymore. I loooooved this fabric and I was so proud of the shirt, even though it has some serious flaws. For some reason the neck pieces turned out bigger than the neck hole. My brilliant solution? Finish the two neck pieces individually and then overlap them at the back. Ugh! And that is not the worse. The slanted breast pockets are placed at different heights!! Luckily for me the print is busy enough to obscure that major faux pas. Phew!
I haven't worn it in ages, and I'm not sure I ever will again, but I still can't part with it...
